Everybody Wants to Be a Cat [coveredinblackash]

Kyo needed a break. He’d just gotten out of the Karate Club’s after-school meeting and just needed some time off. Exhausted and starving, he wandered around the city. He was looking for someplace to eat. Home would be too frustrating and he didn’t really have anywhere else to go- not where he could get food, anyway. Looking for places as he walked, he ruled out some because of the cramped seating or how busy they were. After a short time- though not short enough for him- he found one that suited his requirements. 

From what he could see from the outside, it was fairly small but well-built, with plenty of open space. There were only about four tables, but they were widely spaced. There were about one or two people at each one- except for one in the back, next to a window in the corner. It was empty. Relieved, he headed in and ordered, walking to the table a little stiffly. He was just so tired. Kyo pulled out one of his school books after he was settled in, reading and eating at the same time. He would’ve gotten really distracted if not for a sudden sound. He looked up from his book, towards the counter and door of the cafe.
